apples don't fall far...

this morning my five year old son put his swim trunks on in preperation for a day at the water park.
he promptly pulled the full length mirror out into the living room....
looked at his behind...
and asked "how do i look??"

my crazy spreads.

  1. could be worse - he could refuse food and say 'that's going to make me fat' like all the poor little girls in my son's day care class.

Is it awful that it makes me more upset because those parents are the fat ones pushing food issues onto their kids? I mean they're fat, so they must still be eating the food that makes them fat - why even say it out loud for your kid to grab onto if you are going to continue the behavior anyway?

    I am awful.

  2. I'm trying to lose weight before I have kids, so I can be a positive role model for my kids unlike my mom. I love my mom with all my heart, but she's fat and she's tried blaming her fatness on me. True, she didn't get fat until after she gave birth to me, but ummmm that was almost 27 years ago... And she always told me that I was fat even when I knew I wasn't. Now, I'm gonna make sure I'm never fat.
